Remember when milk was just about the only drink you were told was good for your health? Seems like life was much simpler back then. A fat person was rare, and yet people did not have all of the so-called “health” drinks that are available to us today. It is no secret that the invention of the fast food restaurant opened the floodgates to obesity, but people do not stop to realize that what we drink for losing weight is just as important as what we eat.

Back in 1950, how many varieties of soda pop were there? Probably just 2…Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Now look at how many we have. Not only are Coca-Cola and Pepsi still around, but there are 50 different flavors to choose from! People used to drink water and milk 6 days a week, and for variety, a nice cold Pepsi on a hot day. Now people drink 7 different kinds of Pepsi or Coke for variety and nothing healthy.

On top of that, people now think a tall glass of milk is bad for them as they guzzle down a soda pop, caramel chocolate latte or a high-calorie, high sugar fruit juice or “energy” drink. Where did it all go wrong? Who told that obese person it is OK to order 5 Big Macs for losing weight, as long as they chase them down with a diet version of their favorite sugary soda pop? The television? Certainly not a health expert.

Even people who exercise every single day find it difficult to keep lean like they used to. Why? Because every time you turn on the television there is someone telling us that a new fitness drink is the answer for losing weight, having more energy and keeping better health. Every personal trainer endorses their own magical energy drink designed by the worlds leading scientists to ensure they get the results they want. Want the truth? Most of it is garbage and does nothing for losing weight, but it does make your wallet skinnier.

So what is working to help people for losing weight? There is a simple answer. Drink Green Tea!

That is right. Ditch the Gatorade and instead sip several mugs of green tea throughout the day. Research shows that the
wonder duo of green tea and exercise targets belly fat better than any other combination, so it shrinks more easily than with exercise alone. Overweight adults who engaged in an exercise program for 12 weeks lost more belly fat if they also drank green tea daily. Why is it so special and such a secret when it has been here all along? Because the big money spent for advertising is on soda pop, not greet tea.

All you have to do is look at the Asian culture. They have consumed green tea on a daily basis for centuries. Ever see an unhealthy or obese asian person outside of a Sumo wrestler? Green tea boosts overall weight loss and triglyceride control while providing your body with powerful anti-oxidants. These anti-oxidants blast tummy fat by acting on enzymes that influence the bodys calorie and fat-burning mechanisms to help in losing weight.

Green tea also curbs your appetite, so when you drink a cup of it you do not feel like continuing on to a snacking binge. This is where most people go wrong with their health and weight loss goals. Green tea is not a trigger food like crackers and cookies, so you do not feel the need to keep drinking and drinking and drinking. One cup makes you feel satisfied enough, and energetic enough, to continue on with your routines without stuffing donuts into your mouth.

Need more convincing? When the anti-oxidants only found in green tea merge with the all-natural caffeine, it actually boosts your bodys metabolism to help you in losing weight faster. I am not a scientist, but that was enough for me to want to at least give green tea a try! My results have been wonderful. Not only does it help me to keep my weight under control at the age of 69, it gives me natural energy that lasts throughout the entire day.

Being an asthmatic my entire life, I was never able to exercise. As a result, I found myself 70 pounds overweight and hating the way I looked and felt. Part of a weight loss program that I began over 15 years ago included green tea and I still drink 2-3 cups every single day. Why? Because it is one of the reasons I remain healthy. Your body can do amazing things when you provide it with proper nutrition.

Keep in mind that there are healthy drinks out there besides water, milk and a few fitness drinks…but green tea has the most health benefits from a single cups worth than any other drink. Do not spend your time worrying about what kind of water is best, or what kind of energy drink will give you the best boost for your buck. Instead, get your hands on some green tea and let the drink do the work for you.

To grow taller is an art of doing specific things with self discipline and dedication that many short people who are controlled by negative thoughts don’t like to do. This site of height increase information is not created for those short stature people who neither have a state of mind called burning desire nor zeal to put efforts which are essential to grow taller. It is created for YOU due to the plain reality that your eye balls are browsing this site which shows that you want to gain those impressive inches than you have.

There is a lot of heart and soul behind this informational site because we want to do something effectively to gain inches in tallness for the people with short height. After many years of learning the problems of height increase in humans we have come up with an end result which is this free ground breaking e-program consisting of 5 powerful and effective techniques and some essential tips that can methodically increase your height within a short span of time.

There is only one catch: You must take action by putting this information into practice because no single idea, aim or thought alone will make you grow taller. They will literally take you nowhere until and unless you blend them with SPECIFIC ACTION. This program is designed to help you gain those all extra important inches.

Why the 5 steps are EFFECTIVE? Because of the simple fact that we have taken the by and large aim into picture and then drew a clear cut distinction between which significant factors are solely responsible to attain the maximum potential height in a natural way and which factors are not, for one to follow it in an efficient manner.

This free e-program of increasing your height is like a hand with five fingers which can be used together for performing a particular skill efficiently. The five fingers are analogous to the five factors namely Food nutrients, Growth hormone , Posture alignment, Physical exercises and a Positive mind frame. Do bear in mind that best results can be achieved only when attention is paid to all the aspects of this program in minutest detail. Therefore if any one of the factor is missing, the momentum of growth will slow down, irrespective of how efficiently you focus and execute the other four.

With sincerity of purpose, if you put into practice the five effective steps outlined in this site, a steady physical transformation process will initiate within your body to reshape and change its stunted growth into maximum potential height.

Detox diet foods, as the name implies, are foods that are used to purge environmental and dietary toxins out of the body. Many people consume detox foods after over indulgence of food during the holidays. However, it’s much better if you could include detox foods as part of your daily diet for overall long term health.

Incorporating a healthy detox diet program as part of your lifestyle is the best approach for overall health. Some good detox foods you can include in your daily diet are: fiber rich fruits (fresh or frozen), fresh vegetables like brocolli, cauliflower, garlic, beets, onions, or any other red and green vegetables. Do this for long term and you’ll soon see improvements on your health.

Of course, there are more extreme detox programs that use juice fasts, even enemas and colonic irrigation. These are short term body cleansing programs. We suggest you start with a milder form of detox first by incorporating plenty of fruits, fresh vegetables and grains as part of your daily diet, exercise regularly and rest well. Taking small steps to improve your health naturally and consistently is always better than extreme measures.

If your intention is to detox excess of sugar from your body, then you will need to avoid some of the foods which are often recommended in a detox program. For instance, you need to avoid fruits or fruit juices even if they contain only natural sugar.

Besides fruits, fresh vegetables and grains, other good detox foods include kidney beans, pinto beans, mung beans, garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and adzuki beans. Nuts and seeds like sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews and walnuts are also great options. Carbohydrate based foods such as porridge, potatoes, brown rice and bread are also good options. Make sure that there is no added sugar in your diet.

For protein, fish is a good option especially in reducing sugar. If you’re a vegetarian, you can consider soya products such as tofu. Nuts and seeds are good sources of protein too. Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc, which helps boost the immune system, and sunflower seeds contain many useful vitamins and minerals.

Avoid alcoholic and any other sugary drink, make sure you drink at least 8 glasses of water per day, take time to chew your foods well, exercise regularly, learn to manage your stress and make sure you have enough rest each day. Healthy living is key to detoxing any kind of toxins (environmental, dietary and psychological) and achieving long term and optimum health.

Everywhere I go now I see over weight or obesity children it make me sick. What chance do our children have become strong fit and healthy adults when they are obese before they hit high school. I think it very sad to see children as young as 12 developing diabetes. Childhood and adolescence is hard enough with out being over weight at school children can be very mean and don’t realise the long term damage they are causing when giving the fat kid in class a hard time, not to mention the social impacts that someone with a poor self image can have on relationships with the opposite sex.

The biggest question we must ask is who is to blame for our over weight and obese children well there is no one answer or i think we would of fixed this problem already. But some of the key contributor to this problem are the following:

The Parents
Firstly the children’s parents, studies have shown that children with over weight parents have an 80% greater chance of becoming over weight them self’s. lets be frank here the diet of young children is more often than not dictated by their parents and if young children become over weight most likely their family are killing the with kindness.

The Schools
Another big player in this problem are our schools children often have two meals a day from school and what chance do they have if the school canteen is stocked full fatty foods and soft drinks. Shame on the school putting the profit before the health of our children. On a positive note there are some schools that have taken bold steps and eliminated junk food from there canteens which I hope will encourage other school to do the same.

The Times
The last major cause of this epic problem with our children is the time they are living in forget a new skate board or bike for christmas now it all about video games and ipods in fact the gaming industry makes so much money now that its bigger than Hollywood with millions spent on making a video game some how kicking a ball around at the park has become very boring. With our dependance on technology growing everyday Im sure you will agree that this is only going to get worst.

So unless there is a massive shift within the minds of parents our schools and the general life styles of todays children this extremely worrying trend will only gain speed.

Nutrition and Cancer

Cancer is a faulty immune system disease. If a person does not get enough of the right kinds of nutrition their immune system cannot work properly and cancer and other diseases take over.

Nutrition deficiencies can be caused by poor diet, poor digestion, environmental problems, such as, chemicals and toxins in our water and the air we breathe, or lifestyle factors, such as, smoking, drinking or drugs.

We have only a limited impact on our environment but we can change our eating habits and our lifestyle.

Many people are deficient in one or more B vitamins for several reasons. Our grains are milled to the point where a good portion of the nutrients are lost. We drink a lot of coffee and alcohol which promotes the excretion of B vitamins. In addition, certain medications, such as seizure drugs, birth control pills and other medications deplete our B vitamins.

There is a calcium deficiency of epidemic proportions in this country. Research has shown that only 10% of adults get the minimum amount of calcium in their diet. 70% of teenage boys and 95% of teenage girls get less than the standard minimum required amounts.

Try starving cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

Cancer cells feed on sugar so cut as much as you can from your daily diet. Most artificial sugar substitutes contain aspartame which has been linked to cancer. Try using stevia. It’s a natural herbal sweetener that contains no sugar and no calories, making it very good for people with diabetes.

Cancer cells thrive in mucus caused by milk and milk products. Since milk contains nutrients your body needs, you probably shouldn’t cut it completely out of your diet. Just cut back a little.

Cancer thrives in an acidic environment, such as, a diet high in meat. Meat also contains a lot of livestock additives such as growth hormones and parasites that are especially harmful to people with cancer. Choose chicken or fish for most of your meals, limiting your meat intake to two or three small servings a week.

While cutting back on the bad stuff, add fresh vegetables, herbs and fruit to your diet. Choose herbs that enhance the immune system and ones that work with the lymph system to neutralize toxins and encourage drainage of fluids which flush toxins out of the body. According to the Department of Agriculture, there are over 3000 herbs containing anti-cancer properties.

In his book, The Natural Physician’s healing Therapies, Mark Stengler, ND states that;Turmeric and Curcumin suppresses the cancer causing effects of tobacco smoke and other chemicals. A study of smokers who took a supplement of 1.5 grams of turmeric a day had reduced urinary excretion of mutagens (a substance that causes damage to cell DNA which can lead to cancer formation.)

Here is a list of common herbs and vitamins that help our bodies fight off cancer.

Capsicum found in hot peppers, has stimulating properties that speed the absorption and effectiveness of any herb taken with it. It increases the power of other herbs to ward off disease.

Astragalus
Echinacea
Ginkgo
Green tea
Garlic
Onion
Plantain
Vitamin C
Vitamin E
Vitamin B complex
Calcium
Antioxidants

Try to get as many of these herbs and vitamins in your diet as you can, along with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Given the nutritional deficiency that prevails in this country, it’s a good idea to take a good multivitamin just to be on the safe side. Sort of like an insurance policy.
